Lightening fast visit this weekend in order for me to have a haircut and also water the garden etc.
And it was my first Friday off for my new job -so I went on Friday morning woo - hoo
Haircut looked very nice as per my selfie
Finished (cut and colour) around 4pm - so went and visited the Op Shop ladies and Denise
And then ended up on the veranda for a well deserved G&T, plus some (homebrand) cheezels (a guilty pleasure), and did the crossword, read the "paper"on the ipad
Also did some more bindi eye hunting. Found a further 30 bindi eyes mostly near the fruit tree in the front, and this was after a good searching session at Christmas with Mum - where I found close to 50!

There were also a heartbreaking number of mulberries on the ground all around one of the trees in particular. I'm very surprised that the birds don't seem to be interested in them

And the plum near the well is so full that a few of the branches have now broken from the weight of the ripe plums. Small, but tasty. I remember a few Summers ago when Xavier was eating them off the tree, and got a very plummy red mouth and surrounding face

And the pomegranates continue to grow...
woo hoo |
Justin was also curious as to whether the weed killer that he's sprayed around on a lot of the weeds over Christmas had an effect. As it didn't seem to about 3 days after spraying
And yes, the weeds are dead, but not withered into dust yet

Had a casual dinner and a Monarch of the Glen - athon - which I like to watch when I'm up there by myself

Watered the garden, and was surprised to see moss in the front right hand side of the garden near the fence. Wonder if a pipe is leaking

Also picked some mulberries - and re-discovered those pesky little flies that we'd had at Christmas - all over the mulberries - you can see them on the lunch box below

Also picked a lot of plums, and rang up Terry and Arlene and invited them to pick some also - as I don't want to see them go to waste.
