Well, after a second false start - ie Trudy called to advise that the glass was to go in on a certain date, but then they received the wrong delivery, she called again while we were in Ningaloo to say it would definitely be there on Monday 5th
So, I drove up on the Saturday afternoon, and went to the first Saturday on the Village Green at Kingower. It was a special occasion, as Mark and Chrissie were opening up the old hotel for the last time (it had just been sold) - and having drinks and nibbles there
The next day I attempted (and succeeded) to hook up the water pump and get it going to empty out the cellar - as there was now 28 cm depth of water in there - past the first step as you can see in the photo
I stuck a bit of wood in to measure the depth
And got it going
It was coming out pretty fast, so I had to keep an eye on the sink to make sure it didn't overflow (it didn't). I must admit I was pretty pleased with myself, as last time, (last year) I'd had to ask Terry how to do it
After this a garden inspection
First jonquils
A de-leafed fig tree with a few unripe figs (will pick them and make more preserved green figs )
Very green grass
And fully laden olive trees - will have to try and organise a time to pick and process into oil - except it's hard as we still only have 2 x operational bedrooms - so can't invite too many people up
And Hoorah, the glazier did come on Monday morning - and yes, the panes were measured correctly. It's a vast improvement not to have those crappy old modesty curtains there anymore.
And also as you can see - the tiler had been up since the last time we were there, - putting in the Turkish panel tiles, and also the surrounding white tiles - still have to wait for the plumber to come back and fit off the taps/shower/toilet etc
