Well, our rotunda that we had wanted in time for our Yacht Club Ball is back on track
In fact the reason for the Yacht Club Ball was the rotunda
So it was disappointing that it wasn't done in time
We had started talking about it last September, spoken to a couple of specialist builders, decided on one of them, decided on which rotunda, which features, colours etc
Was organising some of this from our hotel room in Adelaide last November before our Ghan trip
Anyway, had to go through the tedium and expense of first a Planning permit and then a Building permit which I did through Loddon Council
Obviously Christmas/New Year interrupted this a little, and I was dealing with them in early January while on Koh Samui for our family holiday
All the while thinking that yes, we would get it in time
The planning permit was approved on 21 January - which I thought was great
The building permit ended up being approved around 11 February, so we thought we were still in with a good chance
However the building permit was granted with several over engineered provisos which not only added extra time but more expense... arghhh
Anyway, it started up on 24 March as per below
And here is its progress - photos provided by Tom
Sorting out position
Where we want the entrance
in relation to the house/bay window
Digging out the overflow ditch, and also flattening some of the surrounding ground
And the pipe
Uprights
And a roof frame
