Christmas in 29-31 July 2022

Another solo visit - Justin was still too busy.

And the last weekend of Dry July....

Arrived on Friday night - and watched the most beautiful movie on SBS - An Ideal Palace.  Just loved it

And it was a very cold night/early morning - lots of frost

Terry dropped in on Saturday morning and we went to Cafe 3517 for a coffee, as I didn't have any milk.  Had a nice catch up

And then went to say hello to Steve and Denise and to buy some eggs from David

Then into my overalls to attack the weeds out the front - and so many people stopped by to say hello.  I probably won't remember them all - but here goes.  A car stopped  across the road and asked if I was Lady F$%#@* Muck - and I delightedly said yes - he then said that he'd slept in his swag in our front garden.  And of course I remembered - he was one of the gold prospectors who had chatted to me and Karen years ago at the Royal Hotel.  Was hilarious!.  Greg the artist also stopped by to say hello, plus Brian - who brought me a new fire extinguisher (how nice was that), 2 older ladies stopped by to chat and to ask if this was Reg Ansett's house, Kris the gardener and his partner also dropped in - and I showed them around the house, and discussed garden plans with Kris.  I was also telling them that sometimes people just walk in the through the garden and have a look around

They couldn't believe it, and then it happened - a bloke had walked up the garden path and was having a sticky beak, this annoyed me a (it is private property) so I made myself known and asked if I could help him.  He said he was just admiring my house, and I told him that people normally do it from the other side of the fence.  He got the hint and left.  Was a bit funny though

Once the sun had started to lower in the sky - it got pretty cold, so I went and had a lovely hot bath

And then up to Kingower with my bottle of non alcoholic Sparkling wine to celebrate not Christmas in July - but a self make pizza night

There were the usual suspects - plus a new couple - Bernie and Marcus - who were very nice.

The pizzas were delicious - and it was another great night

Sunday, and it wasn't quite as cold - as it was an overcast evening - some more weeding, and also checked out the plastering work that Vic still had to finish

Also had Ian the floor sander come over - as we want to sand the top hall and bee room.  I know we haven't painted the hallway yet, but we really want the floors (re) done.  He agreed with me that they should do the hallway and the bathroom first - as they are empty of furniture, and when they're done- do the bee room.  And then at last we'll be able to use that room again.  It's been more than 2 years!

Here's a couple of photos of what Ian has done so far

I did a bit more weeding, and also saw that Spring is in the air - with the first of the almond blossoms
